Another blog post about cards! I think we may have a small obsession (I know I do.) This selection of cards is from a. favorite design, we picked them up at the New York Stationary show and were able to meet the friendly letterpress folks behind the cards.
Letter press printing is the old school way of printing, it's a relief printing method that Gutenberg invented in 1440! Dang. That's way old school. There is a variety of presses still around today. Here is what a couple of them look like:
Each letterpress card is printed by hand, one at a time, and considering the time that takes, a whole lot of love goes into the cards too! San Francisco has one of the most historical and flourishing letterpress communites in the world. We are constantly keeping stock on lettepress cards for all occasions and love when you stop by to check out the latest selection. stationary show!

This past week was the stationary show in New York City, on a rainy rainy Tuesday we roamed the aisles for new cards to bring back to Lavish! Make sure to come by and check them out over the next few weeks...

A few favorites are the recipe cards from Rifle Paper Co., a new super cute husband and wife team based in Winterpark, Florida. The bear hug cards from Blackbird Letterpress (these work great as money cards too!) were a great find too. The San Francisco Love card is being printed for us from awesome duo at Gold Teeth Brooklyn. Another husband and wife team create the beautiful cards of Screech Owl Design--- so excited to bring these into Lavish!

Help Us Celebrate the Move!

We are so thrilled with our move into 508 Hayes street that we want to CELEBRATE! We would love nothing more than for you to join us!

Our favorite San Francisco DJ, DJ Jolu will be spinning tunes all night long and wine and spirits will be provided! Oh yeah, and IT'S NAUTICAL THEMED!! -A huge trend this season, so it shouldn't be that hard to get dolled up. Check out this cute Corey Lynn Calter Dress.
