Another blog post about cards! I think we may have a small obsession (I know I do.) This selection of cards is from a. favorite design, we picked them up at the New York Stationary show and were able to meet the friendly letterpress folks behind the cards.
Letter press printing is the old school way of printing, it's a relief printing method that Gutenberg invented in 1440! Dang. That's way old school. There is a variety of presses still around today. Here is what a couple of them look like:
Each letterpress card is printed by hand, one at a time, and considering the time that takes, a whole lot of love goes into the cards too! San Francisco has one of the most historical and flourishing letterpress communites in the world.
